Nässjö

Warehouse

In a newly built warehouse in Nässjö, 752 solar panels are installed with a total installed capacity of 500 kWp. For the project, Soliq's mounting system was chosen, which contributed to fast installation, low ballast weight, and a smooth work process for both assembly and cable management.

An appreciated feature is the ability to position the panels vertically during installation.

It is a great strength that you can set up the panel, screw it in place and let the other person connect and make the cabling look nice. Then it's just a matter of folding it down.

Efficient installation with Soliq's mounting system

When we met Jonas Eskilsson on the roof of Nässjö, it was warm, really warm. The installation of the solar panel system was essentially complete and they were waiting for the panels to be delivered. The system has a size of 752 panels and is expected to deliver a power output of 500 kWp. Even though it is a large system, the need for ballast is low.

Ballast: 2976 kg

Lower ballast facilitates the work

A clear advantage in the project was the low ballast weight. Soliq's ballast stones weigh only about 3 kg compared to significantly heavier concrete blocks that are often used in other systems.

– I was struck by the fact that there is less ballast in your system than in many other systems. They have large slabs that weigh 17 kg each, and it makes a big difference to carry around ballast stones that weigh 3 kg, says Jonas.

Lower ballast means:

  • Easier material handling

  • Less physical strain

  • More efficient work on large roof areas

  • Lower load on the roof structure

Integrated cable management

The project also demonstrates the advantages of combining mounting systems and cable management in the same solution.

By the ability to mount wire ladders directly onto the system, an efficient and cohesive installation flow was created without the need for separate solutions or extra ballast.

"One gets quite happy to find a system that fits with what one is already using. There are good synergies there."

Smooth logistics and close collaboration

To create an efficient workflow, the delivery of all materials for the project was coordinated. Mounting systems, cable ladders and ballast. This reduced the need for partial deliveries, simplified planning on the construction site, and contributed to smoother logistics, which is particularly valuable in larger projects where storage space is often limited.

The project was also carried out in close collaboration between the installer and the MP companies. Through ongoing dialogue about practical experiences and improvement opportunities, both the installation and the system could be developed based on real needs on the rooftop.

"In this case, you did the wind and load calculations and you were also present at the first skew mounting. This way, we could get some tips and tricks."

The close collaboration provided valuable feedback throughout the project and simultaneously contributes to Soliq's systems continuing to develop with a focus on user-friendliness, functionality, and efficient installation.
